Somos tres. Un argentino y dos españoles. Vivimos en Ámsterdam, pero ninguno nació aquí. Ninguno tenía pensado montar una empresa de bebidas.

Pasó porque los tres llevábamos tiempo buscando lo mismo desde lados distintos.

Martín llevaba cinco años en Europa intentando encontrar mate de verdad y no lo encontraba. Lo que vendían en los supermercados llamándose "yerba mate" era extracto disfrazado, jarabe con azúcar. Llegó un punto en que dejó de buscar y empezó a construir. Cuando coincidimos en Ámsterdam, ya estaba trabajando en hacer We Mate él solo.

Fernando y Alberto odiaban el café. Simplemente no les gustaba — nunca les gustó. Y cuando probaban otras bebidas energéticas o latas con cafeína, se sentían envenenados. Sabían que querían algo distinto, pero no sabían qué.

Cuando los tres nos juntamos en Ámsterdam, las piezas encajaron rápido. Martín ya tenía la respuesta empezada — mate de verdad, hoja entera, infusionado, como se toma. Fernando y Alberto vieron el proyecto y reconocieron exactamente lo que llevaban tiempo buscando sin saber nombrarlo. Alberto, cuando entendió el problema completo, no dijo "qué bonito" — abrió un Excel y se pasó un sábado entero respondiendo si esto funcionaba como negocio o no.

Eso es We Mate antes de que existiera. Tres personas haciéndose las mismas preguntas en voz alta, desde lados distintos, y decidiendo no callárselas.

We Mate no es una bebida. Es una forma de mirar.

Y es la mirada de la gente que rechaza la trampa. Las fórmulas que sustituyen la planta por su imitación. Las imágenes retocadas que prometen lo imposible. Los gurús que te venden tres minutos al día. Los productos que dicen una cosa en la etiqueta y son otra por dentro. Vosotros sabéis que el esfuerzo de verdad no se compra. Y que las cosas que valen la pena tampoco.

We Mate está hecha así. Hoja entera, no extracto. Preparada por infusión, no por atajo. Tres sabores, no doce. Eslovenia, no a la primera fábrica que dijo sí. Nos costó cinco meses encontrar a alguien que la hiciera como queríamos. La encontramos. Eso es lo que hay dentro de la lata.

Y si nos ves en cámara, vas a ver tres tíos hablando en serio sobre algo que les importa. Sin filtros, sin guion exquisito, sin el brillo de una agencia. Tres robots. No hay nada más íntegro que eso.

We Mate es para gente que se esfuerza por su vida.

Que la quiere mejor. Que no se la deja en piloto automático. Que todavía cree que vale la pena cambiar las cosas, aunque sean pequeñas y aunque cuesten.

We are three. One Argentinian and two Spaniards. We live in Amsterdam, but none of us was born here. None of us was planning to start a beverage company.

It happened because the three of us had been looking for the same thing, from different angles.

Martín spent five years in Europe trying to find real mate and never finding it. What supermarkets sold under the name "yerba mate" was extract in disguise — syrup with sugar. At some point he stopped looking and started building. By the time the three of us crossed paths in Amsterdam, he was already making We Mate on his own.

Fernando and Alberto hated coffee. They just didn't like it — never did. And whenever they tried other energy drinks or canned caffeine, they felt poisoned. They knew they wanted something else. They didn't know what.

When the three of us came together in Amsterdam, the pieces fit fast. Martín already had the answer half-built — real mate, whole leaf, brewed, the way you actually drink it. Fernando and Alberto saw the project and recognised exactly what they had been looking for without knowing how to name it. Alberto, once he understood the full picture, didn't say "what a nice idea" — he opened a spreadsheet and spent a Saturday answering whether this worked as a business or not.

That's We Mate before We Mate existed. Three people asking the same questions out loud, from different angles, and deciding not to keep them to themselves.

We Mate is not a drink. It's a way of looking.

The gurus selling you three minutes a day. The products that say one thing on the label and are another inside. You know real effort isn't something you buy. And the things that are worth it aren't either.

We Mate is made this way. Whole leaf, not extract. Brewed, not faked. Three flavours, not twelve. Slovenia, not the first factory that said yes. It took us five months to find someone who would make it the way we wanted. We found them. That's what's inside the can.

And if you see us on camera, you'll see three guys talking seriously about something that matters to them. No filters. No polished script. No agency gloss. Three robots. Nothing more honest than that.
